Celebrex (celecoxib), the only COX-2 inhibitor drug currently on the market to combat the pain of osteoarthritis, also appears to be a potent adversary of colon cancer. In two separate studies, one called the Adenoma Prevention with Celecoxib (ACP) Trial, and the other called the Prevention of Spontaneous Adenomatous Polyps (PreSAP) Study, researchers found that celecoxib significantly reduced both the size and number of precancerous polyps in study participants.
